#KeepTheMittenClean shirts from Happy People Hike (based in Michigan.)

Outdoor Gear and Apparel Gift Ideas:

  1. Scioto Made
We love our Skip Wallet and Sun Shirt Hoodies made from recycled plastic bottles. Scioto Made makes all their everyday items in their storefront.

  2. Happy People Hike
They say the comfiest sweatshirt and it’s true. A great pillar in the community to boot!

  3. Kula Cloth
Every hiking female we know that has one LOVES it.

  4. Keep Nature Wild
They make cool stuff with care and then pick up trash to celebrate your purchase!

  5. Ruffwear
    Doggo Approved!

Outdoor Adventure Experiences Gift Ideas:

  1. Grand Canyon Whitewater
Been through the whole Grand Canyon with this crew and they have done a great job TWICE.

  2. Morocco Shiny Days
Went all over Morocco with Oualid and Anas and highly recommend them.

  3. Tamarindo Costa Rica Surf & Hike Trip (Kelly’s Surf Shop, Witch’s Rock Surf, and Sibu Tours.)
If my dog could fly to Costa Rica I would probably never go anywhere else the rest of my life, cya in Tama y’all.

  4. Manitou Island Backpacking Ferry Ticket and Passes
Living in the Great Lakes? This is the sleeping adventure in Sleeping Bear Dunes!

Nature/Environment Based Organization Ideas (Give the gift of a donation or time!):

  1. LA Compost
We love seeing composting come to LA and they are leading the charge! We also highly suggest volunteering with them at the Cottonwood Urban Farm if you can.

  2. The Clean Wave
Our favorite Costa Rican Trash Cleanup buds.

  3. Park Friends Groups (Columbus OH, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Grand Rapids MI for example.)
Any time you walk into a park there is likely a dedicated group of volunteers and staff working tirelessly to protect that land, its ecosystems/animals, and allow you to enjoy yourself.
When you volunteer with Sleeping Bear and Grand Rapids you even get a vest!

  4. Coalition for Rainforest Nations & Green Peace
When it comes to putting the planet first these groups lead the way in the fight against global warming.

  5. D, I, & E. (Co-Black Packers, HERO USA, & Trail Mixed Co for example.)
Wonderful organizations we have partnered with, support, and share their messages for equity in outdoor recreation.

  6. Mojave Desert Land Trust. MDLT for short.
Great place I love volunteering at and with.

*Larger scale organizations like the National Park Service, Indigenous Lands Preservation, and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy/Pacific Crest Trail Association/Arizona Trail Association also need our support and will eventually not have the same impact without money, time, and activism dedicated to them.

Thanks for reading and I hope you can find more Presence instead of just Presents in the holiday season!
